Individual Play – Individual Play is simply the actual score each player received each of the 9 holes that were played in the round. After each hole, the player will tell the Captain the number of strokes they had. This score is recorded on the scorecard by the Team captain and co-captain. At the end of the round, it is totaled and the total is input in the “Tot” box on your line of the scorecard. The Captain will then subtract the handicap (which is taken from the Pairings sheet) and calculate your net score. This goes into the “Net” box on the scorecard.
The Team Captain will turn this scorecard (which contains all scores for all members of the team) into the Scoring group at the end of the round.
Team Play – In this format, each member of the team plays their own ball until the hole is finished. Then each member will give the Captain their score for that hole. The Captain will then subtract the number of strokes each player received on that hole (based on their handicap) to achieve a net score for each player. The best net score will be put in box for that particular hole on the Team Score line of the scorecard. At the end of the game, the Captain will total the Team Score line of the scorecard before turning it into the Scoring group.
