1. There are three flights for the Individual play format – Flights A ,B, and C. The flights are determined by the number of players and their various handicaps who are playing on that day. Before play, Scoring will arrange the players in handicap order from lowest to highest. They will then attempt to divide the group into three relatively equal groups. So, if more people have a handicap lower than yours in a given week, you could be in the next flight up. But conversely if more people have a handicap higher than yours, then you will probably be in a lower flight. There are no standard handicap numbers for the flights.
2. Scoring has a method called a “Card-off” when a tie occurs with 2 or more teams in Team Play, or with 2 more individuals (within the same flight) during Individual Play and that score would be eligible for prize.
For Team Play – This process compares the net score that each of the tied teams achieved on the most difficult hole of the course they played. For the Starboard back nine, that would be hole 13, and for Port it would be hole 12. Whichever team received the lowest net score on their course’s most difficult hole is the winner. If another tie occurs, then they go to the second most difficult hole and continue the process until the tie is broken.
For Individual Play - if you have the same score as one or more other players in your flight, and that score would be eligible for a prize, Scoring will do the same process as above. The will compare the score you achieved on the most difficult hole of the course you played on, with the other player(s) score on their most difficult hole in order to break the tie.
3. Prizes - The $2 each player contributes each week goes into the prize pot. This amount is distributed each week, so the prize amounts are directly related to the number of players. (i.e., for 20 players the pot is $40; for 40 players the pot is $80). Scoring will calculate the prizes for a given week based upon the pool of money they have to work with. Typically 12 prizes are given out each week -
Team Play - Prizes to each of the team members on the top three teams. Individual Play - Prizes to the 1st LG and 1st LN and 2nd LG and 2nd LN for each of the three flights.
For Team Play - There are three prizes - First, Second, and Third. Each member of the winning teams receives the same prize, with the first place team receiving the most, and the third place team receiving the least. This is based solely upon the Team Score achieved, less one point from the team score for a team of 3.
For Individual Play -
There are four prizes awarded for each of the three flights. They are 1st Low Gross and 1st Low Net, which both receive the highest amount in each flight. Next is 2nd Low Gross and 2nd Low Net, which both receive a lesser amount in each flight.
Lastly, the 25 cents each player contributes is divided up among anyone who has achieved a chip in, or a birdie on a hole that day.
